Education is not just a process of giving knowledge for a future job but a lifelong process which creates an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide one’s life in a right path. At St.Charles College of Education, we focus on complete development of our student-teachers by involving them in the activities as suggested by National Council for Teacher Education and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. I am sure this will help our student-teachers to realize, understand & explore their talents.

Today, the role of an academic institution is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. “If a plant is carefully nurtured by a gardener, it will become good, and produce better fruits.” Therefore, student teachers must be given a good training from their earliest stage. We are here for the same.

While academic excellence is our major thrust, the institution is also devoted to prepare the student-teachers for life, groom them to face the challenges of tomorrow, and encourage them to be socially relevant. The institution is striving hard to make the best possible efforts to inculcate strong values of student teachers. Converting every individual into a self-reliant and independent citizen, the institution provides a blending of scholastic and co- scholastic activities. We constantly endeavor to always live up to this belief and inculcate this into everything we do, with the aim that we will be able to ensure that the budding teachers grow to their full potential and competent to bear responsibility in all walks of life.

As Principal I am hugely impressed by the commitment of the management and the staff for providing excellent all-round education for our student-teachers in our state. As a team working together, we strongly promote academic excellence among our student-teachers. The cultural, sporting and other successes of all of our student- teachers and staff are also proudly celebrated together.
